Submission Call for Spring-Summer, Issue #13
The editors of Word Fountain, the Literary Magazine of the Osterhout Free Library are happy to announce that we are once again open for submissions. We’re starting early this year in order to switch to a spring-summer and fall-winter printing schedule. The deadline for this window is March 31st.
For issue #13, to be released in May, we are looking for previously unpublished short fiction, poetry, and flash fiction. If your work blurs the lines between those categories, we won’t mind at all. We try to pack a lot of variety into about 50 pages, so we prefer short pieces of concise language with a compelling voice. There is no theme for this issue, so the topic is up to you. You can check out our recent issues to get a feel for what we’ve published as well as what we haven’t; we’re always open to something new.
We have a strong local and regional audience as well as a growing national and global readership. We like featuring writers from Northeast Pennsylvania along with poets and storytellers from all over the country, and around the globe. We particularly enjoy showcasing new and emerging writers right alongside those with experience and previous publication.
If you have submitted before, please note that our email address for submissions has changed. For the complete list of guidelines and instructions on how to send us your work, please click here to go to our Submissions page.
