Silver Skin
Libby Copa
They press upward against the currents
to make small eddies with slow movements
(a quiet disturbance on the water)
They have spent their whole lives searching for the estuary
that will break them from the salt chest
Whole lives under the cover of the deep
back and forth motion of the sea
Slipping through the weir
Navigating the falls
They exhale through their body
The salmon swim
in the ocean of each other
